News | Partner news WP5 partners meet in Bratislava to strengthen collaboration on agroecology monitoring

From 16 to 18 June 2026, partners of Work Package 5 of the AGROECOLOGY Partnership met in Bratislava, Slovakia, for an in-person working meeting focused on data and monitoring for agroecological transition.
The meeting brought together Phase 1 and Phase 2 partners and marked an important step in the integration of the enlarged WP5 team. Across three days, participants worked together to better understand how ongoing and new activities connect, clarify the role of tasks, subtasks and Working Groups, and identify concrete next steps for the coming months.
The programme combined interactive poster sessions, discussions on data flows across WP5, a field visit in the Piešťany area, Working Group reflections and a timeline-based exercise to map dependencies, outputs and coordination needs. The field visit provided a practical reference point to discuss monitoring challenges in real agroecological transition contexts.

The meeting helped strengthen collaboration, engagement and ownership across WP5, while supporting a shared understanding of how the Partnership can advance towards a monitoring framework for agroecological transition.
Key messages from the meeting included the importance of connecting conceptual work with practical implementation, improving coordination across tasks and Working Groups, and ensuring that data, indicators, methods and infrastructure developments are aligned with the needs of agroecology monitoring.
