👏🏼Shaping Agroecology’s Future in Malmö

📅 On 4 October 2025, the AGROECOLOGY Partnership hosted the workshop “Shaping the Future of Research and Innovation on Agroecology” in Malmö (Sweden) as part of the Agroecology Europe Forum.

🤝 Coordinated by Eleonore Faure (FORMAS, Sweden) and supported by partners from France, Norway, Spain, and Sweden, the workshop brought together 45 participants, including farmers, researchers, NGOs, and students.

📌 Main objective: gather early inputs for the upcoming update of the Strategic Research and Innovation Agenda (SRIA) planned for 2026.

💬 Through interactive group discussions, participants identified the main barriers hindering agroecological transitions — from research gaps and socioeconomic inequalities to policy and institutional constraints — and proposed concrete actions to overcome them:
✅ Co-creating research agendas with farmers
✅ Promoting fair and circular business models
✅ Simplifying funding procedures
✅ Strengthening North–South cooperation and knowledge exchange

🌱 The event highlighted the crucial role of the AGROECOLOGY Partnership as a catalyst for systemic change in European food systems. Participants stressed the need to:
🔹 Reinforce Living Labs
🔹 Enhance communication and capacity building
🔹 Establish National Mirror Initiatives for better collaboration

✨ The workshop concluded with a shared vision: agroecology must become a mainstream, evidence-based pathway towards sustainable, fair, and resilient food systems in Europe.

📣 Stay tuned for upcoming events and consultations contributing to the co-creation of Europe’s agroecological future!
