We are pleased to announce an upcoming webinar, “Showcasing Best Practices of Living Labs in Policy Engagement,” taking place on 18 June at 12:00-14 :00 CEST (UTC+2) with the participation of DyTAEL of Fatick (Senegal) and VivAgriLab (France).

This webinar is organized as part of the knowledge exchange between the Partnership and ACROPICS project, with the aim of highlighting inspiring experiences and practical approaches to strengthening policy engagement and collaboration among local stakeholders.

Overview of the presentations

…in Fatick, Senegal

  • DYTAES: presentation of the broader strategic approach and national engagement process around agroecological transition.
  • DYTAEL: presentation of the territorial strategy in Fatick, including the role of elected representatives, the engagement charter and the main actions currently being developed.
  • CIRAD: contribution on the role of research in supporting engagement strategies, with examples of tools such as ideotyping and transition pathways.
  • ISRA: presentation of a concrete example, possibly around water management, and how such issues can be integrated into local planning processes.

…in Saclay Plateau region, France

  • The "Terres Protégées" (= Protected Lands) of the Saclay Plateau: Preserving agricultural land from urbanisation by establishing a natural, agricultural and forest protection area in collaboration with local actors.
  • The LEADER program, as an European tool supporting participatory research and local development.
  • Planting hedges in Saint-Aubin (Essonne department): A project developed in consultation with the local authority, a farmer and local residents to promote ecological connectivity and prevent agricultural runoff.
